Growing up in the city of Chicago, I have experienced my share of sorrow, pain, loss and mental anguish as a result of it all, this compounded with the daily stresses of working, being a student, and just living had me in a place mentally, that I did not want to be in. When surrounded by depressing situations, and daily life struggles what does one do? How do you cope? Where does the healing process begin? For me, I released my fists of anger, and turned to writing. Words became my therapy, pen and paper my sanctuary. From every situation that I needed to deal with, to heal from, a poem was birthed.
